He has only been Creative Director of for a matter of weeks, but John Galliano is already ringing the changes. And this one we like. A LOT. Today it as been announced that the designer will show his first collection for the brand, the couture ‘Artisanal’ collection, right here in the UK.

Previously the house has shown during Paris Couture Week, but under the new reign of British Galliano – who was appointed in October – the show is moving to his home soil for the first time.

Diaries ready: it will take place in London on the afternoon of 12 January. That much we know. What we can only speculate is what the collection will have in store – how will the arch showman Galliano, absent from fashion since 2011, interpret a brand known for its secrecy, and whose eponymous founder is regarded as ‘fashion’s invisible man’?

London has special resonance for Galliano, and ELLE UK has collaborated repeatedly with the designer over the years. As Lorraine Candy recalled during her 10 years at ELLE celebrations earlier this year: 'Everyone said it was impossible when we asked John Galliano to spray reverse graffiti across London in the dead of night during Fashion Week to celebrate the ELLE’s 25th birthday, but it happened.'

We can't wait to find out what's next from him.
