ADNAM: Iris Van Herpen wins

Star in the making

Iris Van Herpen is the winner of this year's prestigious ADNAM award, beating stiff competition from the fellow finalists including Fautso Puglisi, Rad Hourani and Steven Tai.

Dutch designer Van Herpen - known for her exceptional art-like couture pieces and her innovative use of 3D printing - will receive a 250,000 Euro prize and a year of mentoring from industry experts.

'Until now, I’ve been focusing on couture to give myself the freedom and time to work on new materials and new production methods,' she said, after accepting the prize from Pinault and ANDAM’s Nathalie Dufour. 'But I really feel like [my experiments] are ready to translate into the ready-to-wear now.'

On that note, it was also revealed that she will be creating a capsule collection exclusively for thecorner.com next summer.

This will be the third year thecorner.com has partnered up with the ADNAM Fashion Award to promote leading new talent. We’re especially excited to see what this one brings.
