In honour of the 24th annual Chip Week (who knew), one of ELLE's favourite food artists, Prudence Staite, has been busy recreating some of the UK's most recognisable faces in - you guessed it - chips.

Models Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne and award-season luminaries Eddie Redmayne and Benedict Cumberbatch have all been immortalised in potato, with mushy peas, various condiments and even bacon for Cara's brooch helping to add detail.

Their faces were created from mayo and thousands of peppercorns, held down by 5 kilos of dark chocolate ‘glue’, were used to define their facial features.

'I loved working on this project – chippies are such a massive part of British culture and what better way to celebrate Chip Week than by turning some of our Great British icons into edible artwork,' says Staite of the project.

'It was hard to resist picking up a chip and dunking into the celebrities faces – they look good enough to eat!'

Quite.
