Just five months after being rehired, Iris Alonzo has exited American Apparel again, according to reports by Fashionista. The creative director was originally dismissed in the summer of 2014, before rejoining the company in October last year.

When she returned, American Apparel released a statement that said Alonzo’s ‘long-standing commitment to the core principles which the company was founded on’ and her ‘deep knowledge of our culture and brand, which dates back to our retail inception in 2004’ were the reasons for rehiring her.

Her departure comes just three months after Paula Schneider was appointed as the company’s CEO. An anonymous source within the company has said that Alonzo’s departure was to do with the company’s creative direction – Schneider has previously stated that ‘it doesn’t have to be overtly sexual’.
