How does a designer celebrate an unprecendented 50-year tenure at the helm of a luxury house? By creating its first ever Haute Couture collection to be shown on the catwalk in Paris, of course.

Such is the case for Karl Lagerfeld, who this year notches up a cool half-century of creative direction at Fendi.

In honour of the milestone, the house - which yesterday showed its (pictured above) - has today announced the Haute Fourrure Collection: a 'luxurious offering of incredible never before seen pieces, the ultimate expression of the Maison’s highest creativity and craftsmanship in fur since 1925'.

It will be shown during the July Haute Couture season this year.

Comments Pietro Beccari, Fendi's Chairman and CEO: 'We are honoured to take part for the first time in the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris with the collection of Haute Fourrure.

'This marks a step forward in Fendi's history, the ultimate expression of our expertise and creativity.'
