Alessandro Michele's first Gucci campaign

Taking the label in a new direction

It's just three short months since Alessandro Michele was appointed as the new Creative Director of Gucci and his tenure is already proving to be game-changing. So far he has unveiled one menswear and one womenswear collection, both playing with artsy androgyny rather than the luxe glamour that has been Gucci's hallmark. And today he's really hammered home the change of direction with the release of his first ad campaign for the label.

Shot by photographer Glen Luchford, which is a new move in itself as Mert & Marcus have long been the label's go-to photographers, and styled by Joe McKenna, the pics showcase the pre-fall collection -  the last pieces that Frida Giannini designed before she left the building. Seen through Michele's eyes the polished, 1970s looks been given a more relaxed, youthful, low-fi spin - and we like it. What do you think?
