Stella Maxwell On What It Takes To Be A Victoria's Secret Model

We talk with the newest member of the VS pack

Stella Maxwell is the model of the moment. The 24-year-old UK-born model is one of the 10 new Victoria's Secret Angels named earlier this year.

Below, she tells ELLE about landing her dream gig, her favourite ways to keep fit, and her guilty pleasures.

What's the first thing you do in the morning?

I always have a coffee to wake up, at around 7am. I try to only have one shot because I don't want to get wired or too hysterical too early, and then I have a shower.

How do you like to keep fit?

I do a lot of hiking; I like to do fun out doorsy things with my friends. Luckily, I go to LA a lot and I have all these things on my doorstep. And in New York – and in London, in fact – there is heaps to do. I prefer to be outside rather than in the gym. I never believe in just sitting at home.

What is favourite way to workout?

I like to put in my headphones and just go for a run on the treadmill. It allows me to switch off, relax, think about nothing. It's pretty robotic. I love a good bit of cardio.

What's your guilty pleasure?

I do have a sweet tooth. I believe in everything in moderation – I won't turn down a little bit of chocolate here and there. Chocolate ice cream, that's a good one. [Readers, this is when I knew Stella and I were soul mates].

How does it feel it be a Victoria's Secret Angel?

It's pretty mind blowing. I have had a great day today it's just a huge honour and privilege to be here.

How did you celebrate the news of becoming getting the job?

I went out to dinner with my close friends. We wanted to take it chilled – we were just absorbing it and enjoy the moment.

Finally what's your favourite piece from the Body by Victoria collection?

I was really lucky because I actually got to wear my favourite piece in the ad. It's the hot-pink lace set, but I really like the polka dot ones too.

The Body by Victoria collection is available to shop in store and online now.
