With the first autumn drops landing in stores, it’ll be spring/summer 2014 before we know it – on the catwalks, at least. The LFW schedule is set, Whistles has confirmed a catwalk show, the Fashion East line-up has been unveiled… And, over at Headonism, it’s all change, as Piers Atkinson is leaving the collective to make way for a new, as-yet unnamed new milliner.

‘He was one of the original members but he’s a fully fledged milliner of his own now, and – I’m not saying he doesn’t really need my help – but I think we both felt it was time for him to move on a bit,’ Headonism founding father and master milliner Stephen Jones tells us.

‘He’s going to be showing with Noel Stewart at London, who was also one of the original members of Headonism, at London Fashion Week. They’re actually on the stand just next door to us. We’ll be taking it in turns to go and get the coffee!’

The newest member of Headonism will be unveiled just ahead of the shows in September but, in the meantime, Jones has given us a few hints at what we can expect from his spring collection to keep us going.

‘It’s about freedom,’ he explains. ‘It’s not about one line, it’s not about one silhouette; it’s about all sorts of different things. Variety. That’s what fashion’s about. It’s not about the one thing – it’s about doing your own thing, and having fun.’
