‘Can you believe it?’ asked Roksanda Ilincic who was celebrating her tenth year in business today at a lunch held in Harvey Nichols in her honour.

She was pointing to her first dress – a voluminous black number – that featured in her debut on-schedule show in 2005. Alongside, were nine other dresses, pulled from her archives, reworked in brilliant new colours and fabrics. Ten dresses to celebrate 10 years in business.

And what a business. Since her inaugural show, Ilincic has launched a swimwear collection, a childrenswear range, won countless awards including the Red Carpet gong at the British Fashion Awards and ELLE Style Awards and opened her David Adjaye-designed flagship store on London’s Mount Street. Plus who hasn’t worn a Roksanda dress? From Kate Middy to Cate Blanchett, the designer is hardly short of celebrity devotees.

‘I’ve been very lucky,’ she said, explaining that her business has grown to 47 members of staff and will soon introduce fine jewellery and a bag collection into the mix. She also let slip that the shoes for her spring / summer 2016 collection will be designed by Tabitha Simmons.

We can’t wait.

Roksanda’s capsule 10 dress collection is available now, exclusively at Harvey Nichols and her own-name store at 9 Mount Street London W1.
