10 things we want to see Natalie Massenet do next

Nata’s Next Move

The world’s her oyster. Following Natalie Massenet's shock resignation from Net-a-Porter and banking her shares (valued at £100 million), what does the future hold for one of the world’s greatest fashion entrepreneurs? We had some ideas. Some silly, some not so…

1)     NataMP, Minister for Fashion

Isn’t it time the UK fashion industry (worth £37.2 billion) was properly represented in Parliament? Her concise chicness, blue-sky thinking and ability to get things done – what more could David Cameron be looking for? We vote yes. Cue stylish rebranding of entire government.

2)   NataM&S, CEO of Marks & Spencer

This is the woman who persuaded all the top league brands they had a home online and then convinced women to shop there. Imagine what impact she could have on M&S’s roller-coaster profits? We predict it wouldn’t just be knicker sales shooting through the roof.

3)   NataNASA, founder Intergalactic Shopping Mall

In conjunction with Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic, we could see the first megamall in space. If anyone can put retail on the moon, Nata can. RetailMoonWalk, it’s only a matter of time. NataNASA, space’s first fashion ambassador.

4)   NataHollywood, film and TV mogul

Nata has long said she’s interested in producing films. Harvey Weinstein (and Simon Cowell) watch out! We’re thinking she could start with a biopic of her life ‘ThisNataLife’, then proceed to TV with The NataFactor.

5)   Nata4Kanye, Chief of Staff to Kanye as President

Naturally, she’d revamp Kanye and Kim’s style: hone it and chic it up in a presidentially polished fashion. And, hey, she’s no Gold Digger, she’s Stronger… Vote West for 2020.

6)   NataBook, Facebook Fashion Pioneer

Let’s face it (pun intended) Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook are both desperately in need of a style overhaul. Who better than the first lady of online retailing to get all that sorted? There’s always NataTinder too…

7)   N.A.T.A – Chairman of luxury conglomerate

Imagine the face off with other luxury goods groups, Kering, LVMH and, most importantly, Richemont, which had a controlling share in Net-A-Porter before selling it to Yoox. *Goes into dreamlike state over the potential brand stable*

8)   NataFashFest – Fashion festival founder

OK, so festival fashion has been around ever since Kate Moss was spotted in a gold dress and Hunters at Glastonbury. But, oh, the rebranding of it all! In fact, let’s just make this THE world’s international fashion collections pooled in one place. The moon? (See number three.)

9)   BeMoreNat – Motivational maestro

Need we explain why this is a good idea? World domination in keynote, conference, after dinner speeches, natch. How to host seminars. Public speaking made easy. How to inspire etc, etc

10)   NataCab – Global luxury taxis

After Uber and Hailo, we bring you NataCab, the world’s sleekest taxis. From swanky cars to limos and NataVans – from which you can shop, be restyled and have a makeover. Powered by NataFuel.

Nata, we wish you all the very best.
