Six months ago Fashion East announced Ashley Williams, Clare Barrow and Ryan Lo as their winners for a/w 2013. Now the expert panel have cast their vote again and announced that all three designers will be returning for a second time to showcase their s/s 2014 collections.

Established in 2000 by Lulu Kennedy MBE and The Old Truman Brewery, Fashion East is one of the most sought after gigs for new design talent. It’s a huge step to kick-starting prolific careers in the industry, as its winners past have proven; iconic talents include Gareth Pugh, Richard Nicoll, House of Holland, Roksanda Ilincic, Jonathan Saunders, Louise Gray, Marios Schwab, Meadham Kirchhoff and ELLE/Cointreau Bursary winner Simone Rocha all started out under its supportive umbrella.

Ever since joining up with the Topshop Showspace at London Fashion Week in 2005 it’s picked up even more momentum, as the winners get to present their creations to fashion editors from around the world.

Get to know the chosen three now, as you’ll be seeing a lot more of them come September...

Ashley Williams: Just competed BA and debuted at London Fashion Week for a/w 2013. Loves teen pop pin-ups such as Elvis. Known for slogan prints – ‘HAPPY ASHLEY’ and ‘CELEBRATE’ were our favourites last season. ELLE cover girls Rihanna and Pixie wear her designs. Bagged a spot on Times Power List 2013 (kudos).

Claire Barrow: A punk at heart. Makes artistic hand-painted leather jackets. Loved by Rihanna and Primal Scream. Made a leather jacket capsule with Joseph. Favourite fabrics: velvet, wool and leather (obvs).

Ryan Lo: Originally from Hong Kong. Has a stellar skill for knitting. Does everything from disco dresses to lady frocks in Barbie technicolour. Loves bubblegum pink and sky blue. Counts us as his unashamed fans.
