Today we're talking with Pyper-America Smith, 22, who made her runway debut at this season’s NYFW.

Having already featured in campaigns for Moncler, Harpers Bazaar China, LOVE and W, most of which have been alongside her brother Lucky-Blue, together their Nordic-icy looks are catching the eye of the biggest names in the industry.

Add to that their musical talents - all four siblings are in a band together called The Atomics - well, they're certainly ones to watch.

We caught up with Pyper to find out her story, and why she’s steadily becoming not only a social media sensation, but also a fashion favouite...

Congratulations! On your first show, how’s Fashion Week been?

Thanks. It was awesome! Such an exciting experience.

So where did you grow up?

I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Then moved to Southern California for a couple years, and then my family moved to Montana where we lived in my grandparents before we moved to Murray, Utah.

The summer after, we moved again to Spanish fork, Utah where we lived for the next seven years. Then my whole family moved to Hollywood, California to pursue modeling, music and acting.

That's a lot of moving. Where’s your favourite place in the world?

Montana on Flathead Lake, I loved shooting and being in Italy and I also really love New York City.

What I love most about modeling is how spontaneous it is and the places jobs have taken me. If I could live anywhere it would be in West Village, in Manhattan. I love the busy lifestyle and I think it's an interesting city.

What’s it like being in a family of models?

I was discovered after my older sister Daisy was signed up to NEXT models.  When my family walked into the office with her, all my siblings and I ended up signing with them.

And you’re all musicians, is that right?

Growing up with my dad teaching all of my siblings and I instruments and playing music from a young age has been a huge part in our relationships.

In the band (The Atomics) I play bass and sometimes sing backup vocals.

What's been the soundtrack to your life so far?

'Island In The Sun' - Weezer , 'Sinister Kid' - The Black Keys , 'Sleepwalk' - Santo and Johnny , 'Good Vibrations' - The Beach Boys , 'Toxic' - Britney Spears , 'Daughters' - John Mayer , 'Just Friends' - Amy Winehouse ... my list can go on forever.

Who is your personal style icon?

I do get a lot of my personal style inspiration from homies off the street and the bookers at my agency NEXT.  Also skater boys.

What’s been your favourite to work on campaign?

My last campaign was for Moncler Fall/Winter 2015 which was my favorite job I've done so far. It was shot by Annie Leibovitz in Iceland and I did it with my brother, it was incredible.

And your idea of a dream shoot?

I would love to shoot with Steven Klein, Kevin Murphy on hair and Pat McGrath for makeup.

What do you want to do next?

Actually acting. Since I was really young, I've always wanted to be in movies and on TV. But I do want to be a model for as long as I can.

Confidence is everything. If you believe in yourself and love who you are, you will go far. Also don't try too hard or worry too much about what everyone thinks of you.
