Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have never been ones to do things by halves. In fact, it’s pretty surprising that the duo, renowned for their high-octane glamour, didn’t enter the world of haute couture - or alta moda as it is called in their native Italian - earlier. They showed their first collection in July 2012, and yesterday saw them present their latest foray into the world of made-to-measure marvels.

But, as ever, they didn’t follow suit and show the collection in Paris, the traditional home of couture. Instead they took over Milan’s La Scala theatre, a venue both are long-time lovers of. And forget any ideas about a run-of-the-mill catwalk; this show had a series off them, which passed trough the stalls, over the orchestra pit and onto the stage. This was no normal show…
