You know you’re doing something right as a costume designer when you’re being touted for your own reality TV show. Step forward Janie Bryant.

The woman whose name has become synonymous with Mad Men’s unerringly beautiful aesthetic is reportedly ironing out the details for a designer competition-style show with E.J. Johnston and James Deutch, the makers of NBC's cult US hit Fashion Star.

According to Deadline, the basic premise is that contestants will be challenged to create looks based on the style of classic Hollywood stars or eras, with Janie and her fellow – as yet unnamed – judges culling them as they go. The show is provisionally entitled Janie Bryant's Hollywood.

‘We loved the idea of tapping into someone like Bryant, who is great at finding a look and designing costumes for film and TV and seeing how it translates into the real world,’ Deutch said. ‘Janie totally gets how to translate Hollywood to mainstream fashion.’

Here’s hoping that translates to some unmissable TV – there’s a Mad Men-shaped hole in our current viewing scheudule right now…
