He's one of the most successful designers in the world, with a fashion empire worth millions, so it might come as a bit of a suprise to see Marc Jacobs front row at a debut show at Fashion East. 

But that is exactly what happened - Marc Jacobs was spotted attending his former intern's runway show this morning.

Amie Victoria Robertson (known as A.V. Robertson) was Marc's former design assistant who decided to branch off and start her own clothing line in 2015.  

Specialising in bespoke embroidered womenswear and accessories, Robertson clearly cut her teeth during her time at Marc's New York fashion house, where she assisted with the creation of embroidery and print for several of his Ready-To-Wear and Commercial collections.

Showing that mentorship extends beyond employment in his fashion house, Marc very kindly showed his support by attending her debut London Fashion Week show and, as expected, it created quite a buzz. 

The most exciting front row appearance yet, social media quickly sent Marc's appearance at the show viral thanks to several bemused onlookers. Our top three tweets being:
