The Top 5 Animal Appearances At Fashion Week AW16

Because the fashion pack loves a cute, furry friend

So a mysterious woman in a billowing black dress turned up at Fashion East for London Fashion Week on a white horse this morning.

Yes, because 'fashun.'

No, she's not an extra from Lord of The Rings: The Musical, she was actually there to open the Prophetik show.

Specialising in sustainable couture fashion, Prophetik's show at Fashion Scout apparently required an eye-catching promotional ploy, something that reflected their glamorous collections with just enough fantasty to sustain viewer's imaginations, so of course it makes sense that a gothic looking model straddling a horse was used.

Whether it's an attention seeking move or not, it certainly works. Animals have popped up at several fashion week shows and events because it ALWAYS gets people talking.

So we're going to do just that and round up our top five animal appearances at fashion shows.

Julien Macdonald AW16

Aside from Prophetik's horse, LFW AW16 has also been graced with another animal appearance which, as expected, went viral.

Yes that is a spaniel puppy sitting front-row at the Julien Macdonald show.

The puppy, which belongs to stylist Kyle De'Volle, very nearly drew our eyes and plenty of others away from actually viewing the collection, which we're not sure Macdonald would be too happy about.

Remember people -a dog is not just for a fashion show, it's for life.

Chanel Haute Couture Spring Summer 2016

One of the biggest talking points of Paris Fashion week 2016 was Cara Delevingne and that dog.

Making headlines all around the world, Cara's plus one at the Chanel Haute Couture show was her adorable pooch. Although he didn't stay for the whole show, his fleeting appearance tells us he understands the fashion world: show your face, get papped, go viral and then make a hasty french exit.

Mysterious, we like it.

Good thing Karl's super famous cat Choupette wasn't there or else the show might have turned into Cats & Dogs 3.

Ion Fiz

Yesterday at Madrid Fashion Week, a terrier took to the catwalk in a toy car during Ion Fiz's AW16 presentation.

We're as confused as you are.

Let's move on to the next one, shall we?

Hill & Friends

Former Mulberry designer, Emma Hill unveiled her debut collection for her new label Hill & Friends last year and decided to recruit two shetland ponies for her presentation launch.

The ponies who closed the 'bonkers' show, apparently even made Anna Wintour smile. So there you have it, shetland ponies have officially been approved by Anna Wintour.

At several Mulberry runway shows, dogs have made an appearance - this time on the catwalk (dogwalk?)

Plodding by the side of several Mulberry beauties, some suprised onlookers even claimed the dogs upstaged the models.

Why Turbo the bulldog hasn't got his own campaign yet, is beyond us.
