Oh Zayn Malik - ye of so much influence over a certain, younger demographic - be careful what you do, for others will no doubt follow.
Zayn Malik was spotted out and about in LA over the last couple of days, taking a hike in what appears to be one Nike flyknit trainer and one Doctor Marten lace up.
As hiking shoes go, neither are practical, but the Doc Marten is particularly confusing.
Zayn's hiking companion appears to have got the memo about appropriate walking gear, dressed in exercise kit for ease of movement, but it seems she failed to advise Zayn of the day's activities.
It isn't the first time Nike have tried to make mismatched trainers a thing - who remembers the orange and green neon trainers of the 90s, but it's the first time we've seen someone (someone who wasn't quite consistently confused, that is), swap in a shoe from such an entirely different genre all together.
Who knows though, perhaps Team ELLE is missing a trick.
In fact, a cursory Google search tells us there's a whole e-retail site dedicated to mismatching footwear.
Is this a thing now?
