Whether it's the glossy lettering of a Grease Pink Ladies bomber or Caroline Vreeland's Best Friend leather jacket, there's something about customised fashion that makes us want to rush to the nearest haberdashery shop and whip out the hot glue and rhinestones.
But it seems we're not the only ones with a penchant for getting crafty.
Gucci has just launched the second phase of its DIY service in its Via Montenapoleone boutique in Milan, inviting customers to create one-of-a-kind jackets.
The service offers customisable denim, silk, tailored and leather jackets and the choice of patterns, floral motifs, unique designs and fonts that reflect Gucci's collection design.
The move echoes the Italian fashion house's pre-spring/summer 2017 collection, debuted by creative director Alessandro Michele last week at Westminster Abbey in London, which boasted an array of catwalk pieces including oversized denim jackets appliquéd with floral badges and studs.
Gucci first launched its DIY programme last month as a way of reflecting Michele's philosophy that clothing should represent how a person feels.
Customers had the chance to DIY the Dionysus handbag with a range of Gucci motifs including animals, plants, monogrammed letters in Swarovski crystals and a choice of crocodile, python and suede trims.
With plans to roll out the service globally, Gucci fans will soon be able to personalize the Ace low-top sneaker, Princetown shoes and ready-to-wear-pieces.
