A wedding dress revolution cometh

David’s Bridal planning UK launch

Whether you’re getting married or just daydreaming about it, put David’s Bridal on your radar now – because the biggest retailer of wedding and occasion wear in the US has big designs on the UK.

The brand, which has a 60-year pedigree and can attest to dressing one bride in three Stateside, is opening the doors on its first UK store – at Westfield Stratford in London – in October.

And, having been given an exclusive, top-secret sneak preview of what they have to offer yesterday, ELLE can confirm that it’s worth the hype.

David’s Bridal stocks leading designers alongside exclusives by the likes of Zac Posen, Oleg Cassini, Melissa Sweet and – wait for it – Vera Wang, all on the premise that you don’t have to blow the budget to look and feel incredible on your big day. Prices range from the £80 mark for occasion wear up to a positively reasonable £1,600 (well, reasonable when it comes to Wang).

‘As America’s leading and most trusted bridal retailer, the presence of David’s Bridal in the UK will now allow us to serve even more of the world’s brides, enabling them to find the dress of their dreams regardless of their budget,’ says executive vice president and chief marketing officer Brian Beitler. ‘We've anticipated the UK launch for many years and look forward to celebrating the next chapter in our growth and our future.

‘The new Westfield Stratford flagship location is based in one of the most important retail hubs in the UK and we look forward to introducing our 60 years of extensive experience to the women of Britain.’

As do we. As do we.
