It's almost a year since Raf Simons stepped down as the helmsman of Dior and today his next move has been announced; he is the new Chief Creative Officer of Calvin Klein.

In his new position he will be responsible for the creative direction of all the of brands that sit under the Calvin Klein umbrella, including Calvin Klein Jeans, ck Calvin Klein as well as the men's and women's ready-to-wear collections. He will also have creative control over all brand imagery, including underwear, fragrance and home goods, according to The Business of Fashion.

He succeeds Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli who designed the women's and men's ready-to-wear collections, respectively, until their departure in April this year.

Simons left Dior if October 2015 after three years, citing 'personal reasons'. He later revealed that the pace of his schedule at the French fashion house was partly to blame for his departure.

He was replaced by former Valentino designer Maria Grazia Chiuri.

Simons will show his first collection for Calvin Klein at February's New York Fashion Week.
