We may well be in the midst of an unseasonable heatwave and the SS17 shows, but that's not stopping us from planning our autumn wardrobe - in fact, it's making us look forward to chillier times. Roll necks, faux fur, cashmere...

So, Net-A-Porter's latest capsule collection with J. Crew is just the ticket, and it pays homage to one of our all-time wardrobe essentials: the Breton stripe top.

The US brand is well known for its elevated take on staple pieces, and that's exactly what you'll find here - from a polka-dot tulle edged (so AW16) classic Breton boat-neck top to a navy-and-white striped faux fur coat that looks fit for a street style supremo.

'When NET-A-PORTER suggested a stripe collaboration, it felt like they had handed us a golden goose,' says J. Crew Creative Director and President Jenna Lyons. 'The Breton stripe has long been a tradition for European culture, as well as American fashion. We had more ideas than room on the floor. The edit, which is NET-A-PORTER's strong point, is the result of an extremely fun collaboration. My favourite pieces are the craziest - the bias striped fur coat, and the most simple - a striped boat neck t-shirt with a tulle hem. Tradition and surprise – the magic is in the mix.'

We want it all.
