If you thought the only appearances Taylor Swift was making this week were at New York Fashion Week runway shows - she was front row supporting pal Gigi Hadid at the Tommy Hilfiger catwalk show - you'd have been wrong.
For while she was strutting around in velvet thigh highs for Gigi, she was also making a second appearance... in a Calvin Harris song.
Calvin Harris, whose relationship with Taylor Swift ended earlier this summer, beat his ex to releasing another song that appears to be about her. "My Way," out last night, "is kind of about breaking out of a situation that you thought was a good thing," Harris put it to iHeart Radio, following the Swift method of never naming names. "Then, you're way more comfortable out of it. And it could be anything. It could be a job, or it could be a relationship. I had kind of the idea for the concept for a few years, but I didn't know how to work out how it sounded."
Then he figured it out this summer. The song's lyrics, which are basically "But in my heart I understand/I made my move and it was all about you/Now I feel so far removed" and "You were the one thing in my way" are pretty similar to the sentiment Harris had describing their breakup.
With "I made my move [editor's note: as in tweet confirmation of that breakup] and it was all about you":
"She controlled the media and this situation, I had no idea what was going on."
"Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though."
With "You were the one thing in my way":
"I know you're off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I'm not that guy, sorry. I won't allow me."
And generally of Tom Hiddleston, Swift's then-boyfriend, Harris feels "not jealous sir, FREE"

The art is interesting, too. There are doves in the same "This Is What You Came For" landscape where there was lightning before—perhaps a symbol of life post-Swift.
After all the drama—the "This Is What You Came For" writer scandal, the rise and fall of Hiddleswift, and that final Swift-Harris Instagram exchange last weekend—this may just be Harris's way of suggesting he truly is "all good".
