Anthropologie has collaborated with children’s charity Kids Company to showcase an exhibition of hats. These aren’t just any old hats, though. They’re made by children.

Recycling materials from Anthropologie’s store displays, kids from two of the charity’s centres – which provide support to vulnerable inner-city children – are creating headwear inspired by emotions such as anger, fear, happiness and surprise.

British milliner Victoria Grant is supporting the cause, too. The designer is mentoring the children, offering her expertise to help them to achieve their ideas.

The hats will be exhibited at The Gallery at Anthropologie at 139 King’s Road, London SW3 from 3 July. To celebrate the opening, Anthropologie is hosting a shopping event and fundraiser for Kids Company at its King’s Road store on 3 July from 6-8pm.

Join Anthropologie and you’ll get 15% off your shopping (excluding sale and furniture) and enjoy an evening of music, light refreshments, an exclusive prize draw (including a hat donated by Victoria Grant) and a talk from Kids Company founder Camila Batmanghelidjh. Tickets, available at Ticketmaster (0844 844 0444), are £25 (plus booking fee) with all proceeds going to Kids Company.
