In September, Suno opted out of its spot on the New York Fashion Week spring 2017 calendar, choosing instead to show by appointment. Now, Business of Fashion reports the spring collection won't be produced and the brand is closing its doors for good.

The 8-year-old brand, founded by Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty, has earned its fair share of accolades including winning the CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear and being named a finalist for the LVMH prize. Its pattern-heavy, African kanga-inspired designs, partly produced in Kenya, were also a favorite among celebs like Michelle Obama, Zendaya, Solange, and Michelle Williams.

"After eight extraordinary years, we have decided to close this chapter and let this resort collection be our last delivery," Osterweis told BoF, "We have been humbled by the incredible support that we have had from the moment we launched. It's been a wild and wonderful journey and we would like to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who has been there along the way."
