In try Wang aesthetic, the dove grey foldable headphones include a matching leather case and croc-embossed leather ear cups - you can buy them here.

We caught up with the New York designer to ask him about his latest project...

Tell us how your second collaboration with Beats came about?

It felt like the right time to do something together with Beats again. They have a strong connection with music, and so do we. Just like us, Beats likes to push boundaries and take risks, so they are an amazing partner and are always on the edge of innovation.

And tell us about the process of designing the items – do you approach it in the same way as designing accessories for your label?

My general approach to design is always the same, no matter what the object or the garment, guided by challenging existing codes and moving things forward in an irreverent, disruptive way.

We wanted this collaboration to be focused on Beats' wireless Studio headphone, to reflect an undone luxurious design, which is focused on textures and architectural lines. We are known a lot for black and the last headphone we did we black with bronze, so we wanted to do something quite opposite this time. The headphone we developed is a soft pavilion grey with embossed croc ear cups, an accent of chrome, and comes complete with a matching leather case. Ultimately, no matter what I design, I want to create something that is functional, desirable, and beautiful and something that has integrity.
