Today, Carven announced that Serge Ruffieux will be the new creative director for the brand, overseeing the women's ready-to-wear, accessories, and footwear collections. He takes over for Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudaud, who left the fashion house in October.

Ruffieux comes from Christian Dior, where he spent 10 years as head designer of the women's ready-to-wear and haute couture studios. He held the role of co–artistic director with Lucie Meier at Dior between 2015 and 2016 after Raf Simons' departure and before the arrival of Maria Grazia Chiuri.

"I am thrilled to embrace my new creative role at Carven, feeling a real affinity for Madame Carven and her vision of fashion," he said in a statement. "I look forward and am very honored to be leading the creative direction of the House as it enters a new chapter."

Ruffieux 's official first day of work is February 1. His debut collection for the brand will be Carven's resort 2018 season.
