Another day, another bombshell announcement: Riccardo Tisci is leaving Givenchy and has already presented his last show at the house, WWD has reported.

Tisci, who has now served 12 years at the house, where he has been creative director since 2005, is rumoured to be heading in Versace's direction.

With Tisci at the helm of the brand, Givenchy became known for its dark take on romantic dressing, cool and edgy rendering of couture, and A-list fanbase. Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, Madonna and Rihanna were just a few of Tisci's famous clients and friends. Indeed, before Olivier Rousteing formed his Balmain Army, Tisci had a squad of famous Insta glamazons appearing all over his social media images and ad campaigns.

Tisci also developed a reputation for staging memorable shows — most notably his 'Love is Love' show in New York staged with Marina Abramović, which was the first of the big houses to open their doors to the public.

It remains to be seen if the reports of his impending move to Versace are true. But it's very clear that this coupled with recent news of Clare Waight Keller's departure at Chloé means the musical chairs of fashion houses has begun again.
