As far as months go, February is, and has always been the starriest month of the sartorial calendar.
Yet amongst the glitz and glamour that the awards season brings, there's a distinct political agenda sweeping across the red carpet to the runway.
And tonight, at the ELLE Style Awards, fashion's political mood is proving to be no different.
Speaking to Team ELLE at tonight's ELLE Style Awards 2017 awards ceremony, Sasha Lane of American Honey fame, tells us that she bought her own flat on the day of the Women's March, "it felt really empowering."
Lane, who's one of Hollywood's most exciting new music talents, was named the face of Louis Vuitton in January this year - starring alongside Michelle Williams in the brand's SS17 Series 6 campaign, shot by Bruce Weber.
Wearing head-to-toe Louis Vuitton, she says, 'it feels amazing to be the face of Louis Vuitton, especially because I've been told in the past that my dreadlocks look unprofessional. I feel empowered that women of the same skin tone can look up to me.'
Speaking to Sasha on the red carpet, she said of her own style: 'It depends on my mood. I'm either really flowy or I like really comfy things, like crew necks, cool shoes and socks. Little details. Or I'm super girly. It's a blend of things and I think that's what makes it cool.'
Sasha also talked a little about the current political situation in America: 'I disagree with everything that's happening at the moment. But it's an unfortunate way of getting everyone to wake up.'
On her upcoming movie Miseducation of Cameron Post, with Chloe Grace Moretz: 'To be filming something about the conversion camps, when they're trying to put federal money into them, made us feel so good. It made us feel like we're doing something.'
