Last month, ELLE’s publisher, Hearst Magazines UK, announced the launch of Hearst Empowering Women: a major editorial initiative aimed at supporting and celebrating the achievements of British women. (Hopefully, you've already booked your tickets to hear Hearst editors – among them, ELLE's Lorraine Candy – talk about women, work and ambition.)

And today, we're adding an exciting new element to our campaign – a creative contest.

The aim? To raise awareness about the lack of female creatives in the UK advertising industry. More than 75% of all copywriters and art directions in IPA member agencies in the UK are male; only 14% of digital creatives are women; and only 3% of senior agency creative worldwide are women.

In order to try and redress the balance, we are inviting female creatives in the UK – of all levels – to submit a creative pitch entitled Empowering Women.

The winners will have their work showcased in our print and digital offerings in June next year.
