Olivier Theyskens has announced he is leaving Theory after four years at the label’s helm, to pursue other design projects.

The Belgian-born designer joined the New York based brand in 2010 to create the capsule label Theyskens’ Theory, and was subsequently appointed creative director of its mainline in 2011.

Andrew Rosen, CEO of Theory, said: ‘I am grateful for Olivier’s extraordinary contribution to Theory over the past three-and-a-half years, and I am particularly excited to see what he does next.’

Theyskens said working for the brand had been an ‘amazing opportunity’; his final collection for the label will be pre-spring 2015.

Rosen added that following Theyskens departure, Theory would be led by the brand’s in-house design teams.
