Topshop has this morning announced the first winners of its Graduate Design Programme.

The scheme, launched in partnership with the BFC Colleges Council, offers two students a year’s paid internship at either Topshop or Topman. Budding designers submitted mood boards and a 15 piece capsule collection, and the entries were judged in house.

Mary Homer, Managing Director of Topshop, describes the initiative as ‘...a natural extension of our work with design talent in the UK; it allows us to support emerging and graduate designers.’

So who are the inaugural winners of the prize? Sally Hewett from Northumbria University, who will be making her way to Topshop, and Rebecca Howarth from Manchester School of Art, who has bagged the position at Topman.
