Ottavio Missoni, the founder of Italian fashion house Missoni, has died.

Announcing the news today his family said that he ‘...passed away peacefully this morning at home at the age of 92 surrounded by his Family. The day and time of his funeral will be communicated soon.’

Ottavio and his wife Rosita launched the label in 1953, but before his move into fashion he was an international athlete, competing in the 1948 Olympic Games as a hurdler.
