If you're in the mood for the latest constellation piercing, a daith hoop or generally just want to remain ahead of the fashion curve, look no further than Maria Tash's piercings.

Now, we must admit we've been long favorites of Tash's dainty earrings and luxe studs.

Heck, the second we found out she was opening a permanent piercing studio at Liberty in London, we were rushing past shoppers on Oxford Street to get our hands – and lobes – on her bejeweled, delicate jewellery.

So, we're glad to hear her art is being praised across the globe, even if it isn't in the way she'd hoped for.

New York jewellery company, Stone & Strand, recently promoted the American jeweller's latest piercing line, and used a somewhat saucy slogan in the process.

Clutch onto your pearls, ladies and gents, because they were being serious.

Nadine McCarthy Kahane, the founder and CEO of Stone & Strand, told Buzzfeed News the slogan was intentionally provocative, and written by a team of young women with 'an irreverent outlook'.

She said: 'We did write the banner deliberately, because we believe that in the same way men have historically been granted room in our discourse to make playful references to their sexuality, women should have that same freedom.'

I mean, sure.

However, instead of calling out the provocative message or attempting to divorce herself from the marketing company, Maria Tash has come out and found light in the hilarious slogan.

Okay, so she has asked them to change the copy but, at least she found it funny along with the rest of Twitter.

To be fair, if we could afford to buy Maria Tash's gloriously beautiful jewellery, we'd be having every single hole imaginable pierced.

Okay, maybe not that one.
