This morning a gaggle of fashion writers gathered at Marylebone station to catch the train to Bicester Village. The reason for this very stylish school trip? The opening of the fourth British Designers' Collective boutique.

The pop-up store is a haven for British Fashion fans. Curated by Yasmin Sewell, it’s packed full of pieces by , , Preen, and more – and they’re all discounted.

‘The concept of the shop is about future vintage, it’s really about an era of British fashion,’ Yasmin explained. ‘It wasn’t about stock from a previous season or that you may have seen before, it’s about gathering pieces from the best of British talent in one space. When you see it all right here it’s just great product and it becomes seasonless.’

The face of this year’s pop-up, Rita Ora, was doing her bit to support the designers, in a red Roksanda Ilincic dress, Nicholas Kirkwood shoes and Mawi earrings. We asked her to pick her favourites and she told us, ‘Oh I can’t do that it’s not fair, I love all of them! I love the more laid back, tomboy feel - so anything from comfortable T-shirts, and I really love Mawi chunky necklaces.’

Some of the designers had come along too – we spotted Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi of , Peter Pilotto, Holly Fulton. And we caught up with Henry Holland who told us, ‘I think the shop looks brilliant, I think Yasmin’s done an amazing job. It’s really exciting to be here and the level of the brands that are in here is incredible. And I love coming to Bicester for shopping anyway. I always go to the same shops, Prada, Le Creuset, Ralph Lauren Home.’

And if you’re worried that the shop was stripped of the best bits this morning then don’t be. Yasmin told us, ‘What’s here is about 30%, there’s actually more upstairs so we’re going to change stock every week, we’ll come back out and do a different story because we can’t fit everything in.’

And what’s top of her well-researched shopping list? ‘There’s so much that I want, this dress, (by Jonathan Saunders), there’s Annina Vogel jewellery that I want to buy, Roksanda did a reissue of one of her dresses in a different colourway for us and I’d love to by that, there’s some Meadham Kirchhoff I really want, there’s some Jonathan Anderson I’d like to own, there’s loads.’

The boutique will be open for eight weeks. Visit www.bicestervillage.com for more details.
