If there's one thing Japanese fashion brand Kenzo does really well – other than fashion and perfume – it's original films featuring their new collections, launches and collaborations.

You need only look at its back catalogue of films depicting the dangerous world of social media, 'The Realest Real' and Margaret Qualley's bonkers dancing sequence to announce the release of creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon's fragrance, Kenzo World, to see what we're talking about.

Yesterday, the brand went one step further in showing us all just how perfectly the world of television, film, music and fashion can work in harmony, by teasing the news on Instagram that the brand has recruited a whole set of surprising actors to star in its latest film, Cabiria, Charity, Chastity, set for release in September.

The cast includes *deep breath* Saturday Night Live comedians Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen, Orange Is The New Black actress Natasha Lyonne, Little Britain's Matt Lucas, and Broadway actor Leslie Odom Jr., among others.

According to Hypebeast, Rudolph stars as the protagonist of the motion picture who must reconcile with her Vaudevillian part in order to face the future.

Confused? Yup, us too but, just go with it.

However, the most surprising actor to get involved with the new project is child star Macaulay Culkin who, sadly, might only be known to the younger generation of television watchers now as that bloke from the Compare the Market advert, and not his badass eight-year-old Home Alone character, Kevin McCallister.

With a youth that consisted of two Home Alone films, subsequently thrusting him into the limelight and a multi-million pound career, emancipation from his parents at the age of 14 and a short marriage at the age of 17, it's no wonder Culkin was keen to take a break from the limelight.

But, with recent nights out with his 19-year-old goddaughter and his ever-growing popularity (following the world's meme-meltdown in 2014 when Ryan Gosling and Culkin posted a series of photographs wearing each other's faces on their T-shirts), perhaps Culkin's latest step into fashion marks a comeback for the 36-year-old.

Whatever the motivation, we're already counting down the days until the video comes out. After all, if Kenzo's previous films are anything to go by, Cabiria, Charity, Chastity is sure to be a runaway success.
