Here at ELLE, we love a good fashion documentary – and it’s James Franco’s no-holds-barred look behind the scenes at that’s got us talking today.

Not content with having fronted the label’s menswear campaign, Franco has turned producer for The Director, which will make its debut at the TriBeCa Film Festival this week.

The boss of the title is, of course, Frida Giannini, the creative director of Gucci, and the film – which was directed by Christina Voros – promises us a glimpse of ‘the woman behind the label’ as it follows her both behind the scenes and in front of the cameras over an 18-month period.

The newly-released, two-minute trailer (below) gives us such pearls of wisdom as ‘until the end, you never know what is going to happen’, and ‘the seduction, to me, and the sensuality, is always an important starting point of the collection.’

Plus, there’s also a rather hot boy learning how to catwalk, Gucci-style.

We’re officially intrigued.
