Gap’s ex-creative director, Patrick Robinson, has today been named as A|X Armani Exchange’s new one.

He’ll be reporting directly to A|X CEO Harlan Bratcher with a remit that spans product development to creative direction in marketing, WWD reports.

It’s something of a homecoming for Robinson, who worked on Armani Collezioni early in his career before leaving for Anne Klein in the mid-Nineties. His impressive fashion CV has since garnered stints at Paco Rabanne and Perry Ellis.

It’s also interesting timing – last week, Robinson announced his intention to launch his own sportswear line, Pashko, with a ‘cool, sexy, urban’ vibe.

A hint of things to come at A|X?
