Obviously we are just a little bit excited about J.Crew opening its first UK store.

In an answer to our prayers, the American retail phenomenon announced last November that it would be opening a 17,000 square foot space on London’s Regent Street towards the end of this year. Since then we’ve developed a healthy obsession with all things J. Crew, and indeed with the origin of the species - the President and Creative Director, Jenna Lyons.

In this video the Mistress of Mix and Match (for her, leopard is a neutral) describes the process involved in bringing J. Crew shoes from conception to consumption, as well as giving us a glimpse into her own wardrobe of somewhere in the region of 289 pairs of shoes.

Why? Because it’s snowing outside, because it’s time for an afternoon cheer-up, and because she refers to the shoes as ‘shiny ponies’.Need any more reasons?

Enjoy...
