preview for Nike Launches Its First-Ever ACG Collection For Women

Whether you're hiking up snowy mountains or simply struggling through the UK's brutal winter, you need the right gear. This is, firstly, so your toes don't fall off, but also moving from cold to warm (and back to cold) can leave your body temperature of out whack. So you need clothing that is durable and protects against the elements.

It's a good thing, then, that Nike have just launched ACG (All Conditions Gear) specifically for women. ACG is a subsidiary line of Nike that produces innovative athletic apparel and sports gear for all climates.

Johanna Schneider, Senior Design Director of Women's Apparel at Nike, is the brains behind the designs, along with partner designer Errolson Hugh. The range blends form and function and is comprised of favourites like the GORE-TEX Parka and Flight Jacket.

'During winter, you're exposed to harsh weather changes, but also you have to protect yourself,' says Schneider. 'You want a really high level of comfort when moving in what are very vivid, intense and demanding environments.'

The biggest different? Colour, of course. The womenswear collection features bright orange on the NikeLab ACG PO Shell, and a cool mint for the NikeLab ACG 3-in-1 Coat.

'A huge component for us is the expression of the garment,' explains Schneider. 'Often, women's product is so directional, it's expressive and it carries a level of emotion. We discussed how that is sometimes missing in men's product, and those conversations opened up a new space for the collection to evolve.'

Our highlights include the impressive looking ACG 3-in-1 Coat (featuring a 3L GORE-TEX outer shell) with detachable hood and reversible insulated inner jacket. Promising to keep you warm through all manner of subzero winds, you won't want to miss out.
