Zoe Jordan had the honour of opening London Fashion Week this morning, and what a good way to start it was too.

Thanks to her your working wardrobe for next season can be nailed in one easy hit. Not if you work in the city, granted - her aesthetic is probably a bit too cool and directional for that - but for those of us who have the luxury of a bit more creative wriggle-room for our office attire, her collection is perfect.

Luxe, loose fitting T-shirts in silk, leather and wool were worn over super-skinny tailored trousers or mini skirts; maxi skirts were printed or metallic and worn with sleeveless, chunky knitted sweaters. Beautifully tailored two-piece suits came in black and grey for the traditionalists and shimmering holographic shades for those who like a bit more disco in their wardrobe. And printed maxi dresses and block panelled pencil dresses ensured that night's out were covered too.

The palette was dominated by monochrome but flashes of bright orange and pink added some summer-ready pops of colour. And colourful prints splashed against black backdrops and herringbone checks added variety.

As the press release told us, separates were the cornerstone of the collection. Polished, professional and on trend, it could effortlessly have been whisked off the catwalk and straight onto the front row. And that's just how we like it.
