London Fashion Week in just two weeks’ time (yes, we’re getting excited) with Zoe Jordan opening proceedings. And, far from being stressed about it, the up-and-comer has found time to give ELLE an exclusive look at what we can expect to see from her on the catwalk.

‘My AW13 collection is inspired by Italian renaissance architecture, specifically the Duomo in Florence,’ she tells us. ‘Juxtaposed with this opulence, I have also been looking at stark, minimalist, monochrome interiors. I studied architecture, so it has always been a strong influence in my work.’

Expect, then, something of a departure from her spring/summer 2013 collection, which featured loose silhouettes and a riot of pink and orange, inspired by her travels in Africa.

The predominantly black-and-white mood board, pictured above, that Jordan has shared exclusively with ELLE, depicts the aforementioned Duomo alongside, top centre, a sculpture from inside it and a majestic moment for Katherine Hepburn, punctuated with Yves Klein’s iconic Blue Venus. The fabric swatches will be featured in the collection, as will the print, bottom right, which is a digitally remastered look at the Duomo from outside.

“It’s a huge honour to be opening London Fashion Week this season,’ adds Zoe. ‘Pressure is on!’

We reckon she’s got it covered.
