Donatella Versace kicked off Paris Couture Week last night with her 24-Carat gold collection. Held in the suitably grand setting of LHotel Le Bristol, a former bank, celebrities braved the snow to attend an accomplishment in itself as Paris was almost brought to a standstill yesterday.
Princess Charlene of Monaco arrived in a short black Versace dress with silver chainmail details, a black cashmere coat slung over her shoulders and (almost) practical black boots that boasted the Versace gold Medusa head. Actress Olivia Munn looked stunning in her black Versace cocktail dress with gold Medusa buttons. Singer, Ne-Yo, wore a blue camouflage suit and a black t-shirt that flashed a sparkling Medusa head together with black patent Versace sneakers. Kevin Costner was also in attendance but, notably not branded in golden Versace Medusa heads.
Modelled by the greats Kristen McMenamy opened and Stella Tennant closed the show - their hair slicked back, eyes flashing black and emerald green, the collection was a stellar showing of the Atelier Versace signatures: mink, crystal and gold. Lots of gold.
