After snowy Edinburgh, Karl Lagerfeld obviously wanted somewhere a bit warmer for the next Chanel Metier d'Arts show. And he found one: Dallas, Texas.
‘I love Texas. I love Texans,’ said the Kaiser at the WWD Apparel & Retail CEO Summit in New York yesterday.
Following 2012’s opulent, Scotland-inspired showcase held in a purpose-built marquee in the grounds of Linlithgow Palace outside Edinburgh, Largerfeld said he is keen to do something ‘opposite’ this time.
The designer also cited the support of the American press as one of the reasons for choosing the location and went on to explain the connection with Texas is just, ‘A detail, but with little detail, you can make a whole story. I am a storyteller for that.’
The show is bound to be a theatrical fashion moment - here’s hoping Texan models Erin Wasson, Jerry Hall and her daughter Georgia May Jagger will be walking the runway, telling Chanel’s Texan story as only Largerfeld can.

The date of the show is still TBC. Watch this space...
