One of fashion's hardest working designers, , is adding to his load - debuting his new ready-to-wear line, Giamba, at Milan Fashion Week this September.

‘All my friends call me Giamba, and the moniker reflects the spirit of this new project. It’s another side of the same coin, another collection that runs in parallel with the designer brand, one completing the other,’ he told WWD.

‘There is also a playful, underground and sexy side in me and in my designs that you will see in the Giamba line.

'I’ve been thinking about it for a while and waited for the right time, and now it’s matured. I am really very happy.’

While Giamba is playful, Valli has defined his signature line (pictured) as ‘more intellectual’ and his couture line, which debuted in 2011, as ‘more oneric’. He will also continue to design seasonal collections for Moncler.

Valli calls his customers ‘Valli Girls’ and believes each of his lines appeals to a different facet of their personality. His celebrity following includes Charlotte Casiraghi (the face of Gucci's new yet-to-be-launched beauty line), Alice Dellal and Diane Kruger.

For Giamba, each year Valli will design two seasonal collections, along with two pre-collections. The new line will be available in 500 stores across the globe.

While we still have a few months to wait until the collection is unveiled, Valli provided a list of adjectives to help build a picture of what Giamba and its customer will be like, ‘powerful, active, fearless, tomboy, own-minded, nomad, fresh and fab’. Your guess is as good as ours
