A brand synonymous with Swinging London will return to the British high street next year.

Debenhams will reintroduce Ossie Clark to UK shoppers as Ossie Clark London, showcasing a blend of new designs and reworked vintage pieces in concessions at 45 UK stores.

The first collection, launching in February 2013, will include 95 pieces ranging in price from £49 to £189.

‘Ossie Clark was one of the most influential and talented designers, not just in the UK but worldwide,’ Ossie Clark London Creative Director Nicholas Georgiou said in a statement. ‘Ossie Clark London looks to the present and beyond, benefitting from modern materials and new printing techniques but still retaining the flavour of Ossie’s original designs.’

Original Ossie Clark maxi-dresses, famed for their Celia Birtwell prints and body-skimming cuts, remain as covetable today as they were in the 1960s and ‘70s. Celebrities including Emma Watson, Cate Blanchett and Sienna Miller have worn vintage Ossies to red-carpet events

The brand enjoyed a brief revival in 2008, when WGSN founder Marc Worth backed Its latest incarnation follows House of Fraser’s re-introduction of Biba, another key brand of the ‘60s, in 2009.
