ArtReview magazine published its definitive list of the 100 most important figures in contemporary art todayand Miuccia Prada is included alongside the world's top artists, dealers and collectors.
The arts magazine ranked entrants according to a combination of influence over the production of art internationally, sheer financial clout (although in these times thats no longer such a big factor) and activity in the previous 12 months.
Prada has long been a supporter of the arts through her Fondazione Prada contemporary art space. Her private art collection includes pieces by prominent artists such as Anish Kapoor, Louise Bourgeois and Carsten Holler (Prada has one of Hollers famous slides installed in Prada Group headquarters). Her work, considered more art than fashion by some, was the subject of this year's Costume Institute exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
