Designers hit the dogwalk

Charity fashion show for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home

Paris fashion week may be over, but there’s still another glittering date on our calendar – it’s the Collars & Coats Gala Ball on Thursday 8 November – where the sleek, the shaggy, and the wet nosed will swap their Battersea kennels for the dogwalk to model world exclusive canine couture by a stellar list of fashion designers.

We’re not joking when we say big name designers. On the bill are Giles Deacon, Henry Holland, Stephen Jones, Julien Macdonald, Stella McCartney, Mulberry, Kate Middleton’s favourite Jenny Packham, Gareth Pugh, Matthew Williamson, Vivienne Westwood and more.

During the evening, the canine finery is auctioned off to contribute to the £12.7 million needed by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to care for unwanted animals every year. Henry Holland, one of the designers involved says: ‘I am extremely proud to support the dogwalk, I have always been a dog lover and this initiative is such a brilliant way to use fashion as a way of highlighting such a great cause.’
