Hakaan's Paris show cancelled

Entire collection missing

It's a scenario that keeps designers awake at night, but for Paris label Hakaan the nightmare came true today when they were forced to cancel their Fashion Week show, scheduled for tomorrow, at the eleventh hour, after the entire collection went missing. The brand issued the following short statement: ‘Unfortunately the Hakaan show had to be cancelled for tomorrow as the collection has been lost by the courier company.'

The pieces will be remade for journalists and buyers to view at a later date.

The details of where the collection went missing are not yet clear – it remains to be seen whether it is lost or stolen. A year ago, fashion thieves whisked away a substantial portion of Marc Jacobs' collection en route to his Paris showroom (although it had taken its turn on the catwalk in New York).

Hakaan Yldrim is a Turkish fashion designer who was discovered by fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and who went on to win the 2010 ANDAM fashion prize. He always has a starry front row, with fans including Kate Moss and Carine Roitfeld.
