' right-hand woman, who left shortly after the departure of the American design powerhouse, has been announced as the new to Artistic Director of Sonia Rykiel.
French-born, California transplant Julie de Libran, who has also spent time at Versace and Prada, will bring a new energy to the quintessentially Parisienne brand. Rykiel, she told WWD, has had a powerful influence on her own aesthetic. "She was such a powerful woman and she created such a style. I liked that she was a woman designing for women." We'll be watching the catwalk with interest during Paris Fashion Week in September, when she will be showing her first collection for the house.
