‘I like to create silhouettes that are not typical of knitwear, using knit unexpectedly,’ says designer Nascimento.

After graduating from London College of Fashion in 2008, he has spent the last three seasons showing at Rio Fashion Week, but he’s a welcome new addition to the London schedule.

Transparency, layering and cocoon shapes or ‘protective knits’ as he calls them, were the focus.

Dropped shoulder woven jacquard tops were paired with contrasting delicate knit pencil skirts. Hard fabrics were juxtaposed with soft sheer pieces. Garments were strict and loose, masculine and feminine. It was a collection of contradictions.

This season saw the introduction of print, taking the form of planet motifs and constellations, which were plasticized onto raspberry, white, ink blue and lime gauze knits for the finale.
